Second World Conference on Optometric Globalisation

Over 200 delegates from 33 countries gathered at the Queen Elizabeth II Conference Centre in London from 11 – 13 April to discuss the political, humanitarian and commercial aspects of the development of effective, efficient policies and delivery care systems that improve visual health.

The Second World Conference on Optometric Globalisation, held by the World Council of Optometry (WCO) and the European Council of Optometry and Optics (ECOO) in conjunction with the College of Optometrists, addressed key issues that directly affect multidisciplinary eye care teams, policymakers, non-governmental organisations, public health experts, and administrators.

Speakers from a wide range on international organisations including the International Centre for Eye Care Education, Hong Kong Polytechnic University, Nigerian Optometric Association, World Health Organisation and the American Optometric Association spoke at the Conference, the second of its kind to be held.

Speaker presentations will be available on the World Council of Optometry website shortly.
