The All Party Parliamentary Group for Eye Health and Visual Impairment aims to inform and educate parliamentarians about the importance of high quality eye care for the prevention of eye disease and blindness and for the eye health of the nation; and to promote better understanding of visual impairment and greater social inclusion.

Sandra was elected Liberal Democrat MP for Romsey in May 2000. She is Liberal Democrat spokesperson for Health. Sandra is a qualified pharmacist. Before becoming an MP she managed a busy pharmacy store. Her concerns regarding education, the Health Service and the environment led her to become active in local politics. She was a Borough Councillor between 1995 and 2003, and in 1997 became the youngest ever female Mayor of Romsey.
Vice Chair - Baroness Knight of Collingtree DBE
Baroness Knight was from 1966-1997 Conservative MP for Birmingham Edgabaston, before being raised to the peerage as Baroness Knight of Collingtree. Lady Knight lists her political interests as being health, social security, childcare, industry, Council of Europe and the European Union, Cyprus, Taiwan and America.
David Heath was elected MP for Somerset and Frome in 1997 and is the Liberal Democrat Shadow Leader of the House of Commons and spokesman on Constitutional Affairs. David was the founding Chairman of the All Party Group, and was chairman from 2002-2005. He has also been appointed to the influential Modernisation Committee of the House of Commons. David is married and has two children, he lives in his constituency at Witham Friary between Frome and Bruton.
Vice Chair - Linda Riordan MP
Linda has been MP for Halifax since 2005. From 1995-2006 she was a Councillor on Calderdale Metropolitan Borough Council where she was Chair of Leisure Services and also a Non-executive director of Calderdale and Huddersfield NHS Trust. She worked for Alice Mahon MP from 2001-5. Linda lists her political interests as transport, cultre media and sport and Kashmir.
Secretary - David Amess MP
David Amess lives in Southend with his wife Julia and their five children. He has been a Member of Parliament since 1983 and has represented the constituency of Southend West since 1997.
Doug Naysmith was first elected to the Commons in 1997 as Labour MP for Bristol North West. He came from a very strong background in the city's local politics, having sat as a councillor for many years. He is a leading figure in the national co-operative movement and an active MP in the Commons. A highly qualified immunologist and academic, he is interested in promoting scientific issues.
